LGBTQ Community Passover Seder

April 12, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join J.Proud, the JFCS LGBTQ Initiative, Tribe12 & the Kol Tzedek LGBTQ Havurah for an LGBTQ Passover seder!

We’ll join together as queer members of the Philadelphia Jewish community to enjoy a seder, the traditional Passover meal and service, while exploring themes like queerness, trans identities, activism, liberation, and freedom. Participants will have a chance to reflect on the history of Jewish and queer struggles for acceptance, as well as meditate on a future where our intersecting identities are celebrated.

Entrees will be provided, but please bring a side dish or dessert if you are able.

As this meal is part of the holiday of Passover, your dish must contain no wheat, spelt, barley, or rye. Your dish MAY contain kitniyot, or legumes, rice, corn, sunflower seeds/oil, and sesame seeds/oil, soy, and peas. All dishes should have a labeled ingredients list on an index card, for those observing varying kashrut practices and other dietary restrictions.

(please note: we are unable to guarantee that the kitchens/vessels/utensils of all potluck participants have been kashered for pesach, so please be aware of this fact when deciding if you want to attend.)

PLEASE RSVP at the ticket link, so we know how may people to expect. We will be setting the tables with all of the traditional dishes and pieces necessary for a Passover seder (charoset, maror, egg, etc), and will need to know how much to prepare, how much wine we’ll need, etc.

This event is FREE, but any donations will go to running more programming for the Jewish LGBTQ community in Philadelphia.
We hope to see you all there!
